Yea for Tewsha!

Tewsha is Sydney's therapy horse and he is a sweetie! Sydney did so great today! All the way there she was saying "Waaalk ewww ssshhhaa" and "Ye Hah!" It was so cute! Sydney did everything Jean asked her to do and they got to trot today which Sydney loves to do! She just bounces while laughing so hard she can hardly breathe! It is amazing to watch her on that horse! And the joy on her face is worth it all!

Fun in OKC!

Today we took everyone to OKC - first we meet Uncle Ga for lunch, then we took Sydney to therapy, then we got ice cream from Sonic and then we went to the Omniplex and got to see the Planatarium show! Well, most of us saw the show! Mommy & Karsten had to leave the show after about 10 minutes as Karsten started hollering for a "nack!" Oh well, we can always walk into the backyard after the kids are asleep and look at the stars...one of these days...

Cousin Taylor has spent the night 2 nights in a row and the girls have all slept on the sofa bed and stayed up late watching movies so they have had a blast! Karsten has been sleeping very good in his big boy bed and seems to love it! So that has been a nice transition! Yesterday we rode bikes to the library. (Nanny rode her bike, Taylor rode her bike & Kristen pulled the girls in the bike caddy thing and had Karsten in a seat in between her handle bars! Just a little nerve racking but lots of fun!) Other than that, we've mostly been swimming almost all day!

Happy Birthday Kristen!

Sunday was Kristen's birthday! We had a Walker family reunion and celebrated with Shawna (Norfleet) & Daren Davis' family being back in the states! They are missionaries in Zambia, Africa and had some wonderful stories and pictures to share with us! The kids all had a ball playing together and the adults enjoyed catching up! The kids played til they dropped! Then we all went to church Sun night where Daren & Shawna did the service. It is so inspiring and amazing to listen to them! Steve & I are hoping to one day take the kids to go visit them - it would give them such a different perspective on things.

Got to go for now, Karsten just took off his diaper and is running around the house naked!!

Golf Day!

Sat we got to go golfing and had a blast! Steve T, Greg, Steve B & Kristen teamed up against Poppy, Big Dale, Jimmy & Tub (Tom) in a heated round of golf (the sun was hot, not the golfers!) We had a great time and while wisdom & knowledge gave the older group an edge, in the end youth won out!

Karsten got a big boy bed!

Our little baby boy now has a big boy bed! You should have seen Daddy & Poppy trying to put this bed together! And of course the company didn't have all the parts int he box, so now we are trying to get one more piece of wood so we can finish the bookshelf/headboard! He loves his bed but the first night we put him in it, his cousins came over and he got all wound up and did NOT want to go to sleep, much less in the new bed! When I went to check on him after letting him cry it out, he was curled up in bed with his football and slept all night! We've had no other problems getting him to sleep in his new bed! All in all, a success! Now if Mommy can get over the fact that she no longer has a little baby boy at home!

The Lion King!

Last night my mother and I drove to Tulsa go get Suzanne & Taylor and we all went to eat at PF Chang's and then saw the Lion King at the Performing Arts Ctr. It was so good! The costumes were incredible and we just had the best time! Of course that meant that mom and I made it back around 2am this morning...ugh! And lucky for me, Syd was up by 6:30! Ever the early riser she is!

Today I am going to talk to the Lion's Club about the bond issue and our (SOS group) plans for the next few months. Syd has therapy today so mom is taking her and Amber is going to help watch the other two while I go talk. Steve is in Miami today, hoping it's golfing weather! Although I just found his wedge that apparently one of the kids pulled out of his bag before he left! Surprise Daddy!

Spa Nanny's

What a fun day we had today! Swimming all afternoon with our 3 kids, Suzanne's twins, Kristen's cousin Krystal, her 4 kids (includes another set of twin girls!) and Kristen's cousin Kelly's boy! Even better, no near drownings or stitches!!!! A successful gathering!

Then after an afternoon snack of lots of ice cream and a great dinner outside, we moved in to Spa Nanny's! The three little girls (Makenzie, Sydney & Katie) each had a facial, a new hairdo, their nails done & their makeup done! The boys (Karsten & Rob) got to help by delivering sassperilla (milk or water) and being errand boys! They received a special treat when the fabulous Mr. Steve showed up to help with nails and the darling Miss Kiss did the hair and makeup while Ms. Nanny herself did the facials! Poor Poppy watched on from his recliner and tried to stay out of the way!

Katie was very concerned with why we wanted to make them so beautiful but after about the third time she asked finally decided "for the fun of it" was an OK answer and really got into it! Makenize had a blast until she just got too annoyed that Miss Kiss wanted to (gasp!) curl her hair! Terrible mistake...fortunately, it was time for bed! So, we left the 4 five year olds at Spa Nanny's and brought Little Man home to go to sleep.

Wish you could have been here, it was a night to remember!

On another note, we looked thru the wedding pics today...my weren't we all young & skinny back then! And very little gray hair on anyone! What a great day that was! And how blessed we are today! It's so wonderful to be married to your best friend! Here's hoping for many many more years together! Lots of love to all!

School bond update

For those of you that don't know, I have gotten very involved with trying to get a school bond passed here...for some crazy reasons we have failed to pass a bond! I wrote a letter to the editor and now I have gotten a group of over 240 people together to see what we can do! I really think people do not understand how bad it is for our gradeschoolers...surely no one who has seen it with their own eyes could vote against these kids! Anyway...enough preaching! We are gearing up for a float at the 4th of July parade (hopefully lots of kids, parents, grandparents, seniors, former superintendents & principals etc... all wearing their Support Our School t-shirts!) and then we will have a booth at the park where we will have all kinds of info available, not to mention an informal poll and Q&A box, suggestion box & t-shirt sales!

Then, we will have a Back to School Bash in August at the Park geared toward gradeschoolers & their parents, but open to everyone. We have 3 groups set up to sing & entertain that are all Marlow grads or currently in school here. We will have free food & drinks & lots of information available here too, as well as voter registration & info about absentee ballots!

Starting in August we will try to have different groups talk to every group that meets in town from then until the vote in November...and we have some special stuff planned for the day of the vote as well...

If you have any good ideas or input, send it my way! We are open to suggestions!

Welcome to the Terrell's Blog!

Hello everyone!

We finaly have a blog! I will try to keep it updated with what in the world is going on in our lives!

Today, Steve, Sydney & I went to OKC for Steve to fly to Chicago & back and for me to take Sydney to therapy. We left Makenzie & Karsten with Nanny and their cousins Katie & Rob! They had quite a fun day and just wrapped it up with Poppy taking them to Braums after church!

Tomorrow Sydney has her horseback therapy and then we will probably spend all day outside in the sun & in the pool! Poor Karsten is white as a ghost while the girls are very tan! Karsten takes after his Poppy when it comes to tanning...

Tomorrow is also our 15th anniversary! Yea for us! Can't believe it's really been 15 years! Time flies when you're having fun!
